Fun-Filled Dog Playgroup Sessions
Play Group allows your dog to spend extended time outside with other furry friends. These sessions are great during these extraordinary times with so many people working from home and faced with a multitude of distractions. Dog playgroup relieves the stress that your dog is not getting enough of its energy out on walks or socializing enough with other dogs. Of course, dog playgroup is also great when you are also out for the day and you want your pup to burn as much energy and have as much fun as humanly (errrr….doggedly) possible.
Each dog playgroup session is a minimum of 2-hours and 15 minutes (oftentimes longer!) and includes a variety of walking, trips to the dog run/park, and fun socializing with other pups. We never group more than 4 dogs together and make sure that your dog is paired up with other like-minded pups. We keep the numbers small to make sure that close love and attention is paid to your dog. We follow all of the same safety measures for dog playgroups in NYC as with our Walking & Running programs – as well as adhere to our Covid-19 safety procedures.
There is typically a morning session and a later afternoon session but we should be able to find a time that is right for you and your pup. Scheduling
We ask that you please give a bit of a window for Play Group pickups. We will try to work with you to get as close to the desired time as possible. Session time is from the entrance to the building until the Happy Panter leaves your home after the visit. There may be times when your pup is kept out a little longer than 3-hours. If this is any concern, please contact Happy Pants’ main office. Also, please always handle all scheduling with Happy Pants’ main office.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be made by at least 8 A.M. on the day of service for the full-rate to not be charged.
Essentials
Please make sure that you have bags, a safe harness or collar that doesn’t slip off, paper out for a note, and a towel ready in the event of rain. Please provide a set of keys for your apartment or give word to your doorman to give access. All dogs must be licensed and have ID tags. A signed contract is required for service.
Weather
We come for the dog playgroup sessions no matter the weather. In the event of heavy rain or extreme heat, we may go inside after a while for some indoor playtime.
Dogs with minor behavioral issues
If you are concerned that your dog may not do well in a dog playgroup because it is rambunctious, barks a lot at other dogs, etc., please contact us. We have had great success introducing such dogs to groups and improving their overall behavior through close care and socialization.
Hours of operation/Holidays
Our normal hours are from Monday – Friday, from 10:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M. Weekday Dog Play Groups between 8:30 AM – 10 AM and 5 PM – 8 PM are at an additional $7 fee. Visits starting before 8:30 AM and finishing after 8 PM are an additional $12 fee (to regular afternoon walks). Requests after 8 AM for same-day Playgroups are at $7 incremental fee.We observe the NY Stock Exchange calendar. Additional holidays include the Friday after Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Holiday afternoon sessions (and accompanying weekends) are at additional $12 fee. Holiday visits between 8:30 AM – 10 AM and 5 PM – 8 PM are an additional $19 to regular weekly afternoon Play Groups. Holiday visits starting before 8:30 AM and finishing after 8 PM is an additional $24 fee to regular weekly afternoon sessions. Please just let us know if you have any questions at all about pricing.

Combining services
If you combine a dog playgroup with Happy Pants Walking or Running, we will apply the commensurate frequency discount.
Payment
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards. We process payment on Friday’s every 2 weeks after services are rendered.

1. What is the minimum age at which my dog can start running?
Every dog, irrespective of their age, needs some form of exercise. The exercise can be running, playing fetch, or just going out for a walk, but it is important. At Happy Pants NYC, we’ve created maintenance programs for dogs of all ages under our dog-running services. We have a Happy Pants puppy care program that involves all the care needed for a puppy. For dogs who are old, Happy Pants walking can be a better program. For more information, you can contact us and our team will be happy to answer any questions.

2.My dog has behavioral issues. How can I get him ready for the dog running service in NYC?
Some dogs can have behavioral problems due to a lot of reasons. Dogs that lack social interaction can often face these problems. As they grow, it becomes hard to train them. At Happy Pants, we take extra care of such dogs and make sure that we bring changes in their behavior. We take the right steps for caring and socialization to make them comfortable around other dogs before we proceed with the dog running service. We also carry out minor training with them to make things easier.

3. Is it possible to arrange for a trial and a meeting with the dog runner in Manhattan?
Absolutely. We can arrange a meeting with you and the dog runner in Manhattan or your area whenever you like. We ourselves conduct a few meetings between the dog parents and the dog runner before we make a schedule. This interaction makes the process easier. We can arrange for a trial once we are done with our first meeting. If you’re interested, then you can go ahead and take up our dog running service in NYC. 4. What happens if the weather conditions are bad throughout the week?
Our dog runners in NYC will show up irrespective of the weather conditions. We believe that unless it’s really bad weather conditions, your dog should get the exercise and affection that they deserve. Under our dog running service, our athlete runners may walk or fast-pace walk for the dog’s safety and their safety. In case the conditions get worse, we’ll take the dog inside for indoor playtime. We hardly cancel any visits but if we do, we’ll let you know 2 hours in advance.
